GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 579519
Banshee doesn't copy files from iPod to hard drive
Last modified: 2010-09-16 22:32:29 UTC
Please describe the problem: Hi I'm using Banshee 1.4.3 with Ubuntu Jaunty. When I plug in my iPod it works perfectly, the only thing not working is copying single songs from the iPod to my library on my hard drive. I do not want to do a complete synchronization. I select a song and drag and drop it into my library. It immediately appears there but when I try to play it it says the file doesn't exist. In fact it creates the folders but not the actual file. It's an important feature for me, so it would be really nice if you would fix this. Thanks Aliam Steps to reproduce: 1. Plug in an iPod, it will be detected successfully. 2. Go to the library on the iPod. 3. Drag and drop a song from there to your local library. 4. A new entry in the local library will be created, but the file won't be copied to your hard drive. Actual results: An error when trying to play the song: the file doesn't exist. Expected results: The file should be copied to my hard drive properly, so I can play it. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
Can confirm this bug, same here. Banshee 1.4.3, dragging music from the ipod to the music library creates an database entry and the folder structure but the files aren't copied to the harddisk. So either disable the drag drop or correct this bug :D, thx
This works with Banshee 1.7.5 and higher.
