GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 579091
Multiple file/pattern selection (ctrl+s) should be case insensitive
Last modified: 2021-06-18 15:53:22 UTC
the bug has been opened on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314481 "When I hit Ctrl+s a window appears and I can write a simple expression. All file whose name matches this expression are then selected. There is only a problem for me: the filter used should be case insensitive. There is no point in me searching for a file whose name I can barely remember if I should also rembember the case.."

Ideally there would be a way to decide whether one wants it to be case sensitive or not.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
