GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 578816
No PC-to-Phone calls anymore
Last modified: 2009-07-27 14:27:23 UTC
Please describe the problem: Description: I use SIP provider named PoivY (Betamax brand like VoIPBuster, VoIPDiscount, etc.) to call landline numbers with Ekiga. After upgrading from 3.0.2 to 3.2.0 on Archlinux, it doesn't work anymore. After dialing a number nothing happens. Steps to reproduce: 1. Dial a number 2. Press Enter or green 'call' button 3. Nothing happens Actual results: After pressing the green call button, it will be inactive and the red active for some seconds. After then, the green will be active and the red inactive. Expected results: Call a landline number with SIP. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Log file made by 3.2.0 after an unsuccessful call: http://pastebin.ca/1383640 Log file made by 3.0.2 after a successful call: http://pastebin.ca/1388239
My new packages are: ekiga 3.2.0-1 ptlib 2.6.1-1 opal 3.6.1-1 My old packages with SIP working: ekiga 3.0.2-1 opal 3.4.4-2 ptlib 2.4.4-1
Same or related problem -- stable branches (ptlib 2.6 / opal-3.6 / ekiga-3.2) from today July 1st, 2009. Attached is D4 output from the call. Same call worked on Ekiga-3.0.

I think you have too many codecs enabled. Have you tried disabling a few?
Jesper (and Gabor), have you tried to remove some (unused) codecs?
Using Fedora 11 and stable branch 3.2 (20090726) - and removing most of the codecs from the configuration the call goes through. Perhaps a configuration check can be implemented to check if the stack is able to make a call (packet size check).
Jesper, this is http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2795756&group_id=204472&atid=989751 Gabor, any news (see comment #5)?
The new version (3.2.5) is perfectly working in Arch Linux now. (In reply to comment #7) > Jesper, this is > http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2795756&group_id=204472&atid=989751 > > Gabor, any news (see comment #5)? >
