GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 578756
printing with custom page definitions no longer works
Last modified: 2009-04-19 17:20:35 UTC
Please describe the problem: Back in bug 570353 in gimp 2.6.4 I was having problems importing an svg file I wanted to print on a inkjet printable CD, but once I got it imported, I could print just fine. Now with the latest fedora gimp-2.6.6-1.fc10.x86_64, I can no longer get the printer to work by defining the custom page size I need to match the HP Photosmart C5550's idea of the proper page size for a CD printout. Steps to reproduce: 1. Page Setup, Manage Custom Pages 2. Custom page with no margins, 5 inches square, 300 DPI, portrait 3. Try to print image with properties 300 DPI and 1500 pixels square Actual results: No power on earth seems to be able to convince gimp to just print the image on the page which has been supposedly defined to be the same size as the image. It may possibly be ignoring the 0 margins in my custom page, but the results are far screwier than just that would account for. What I actually get is the image scaled to about the size of a quarter printed with a bit of it clipped by being slightly off the edge of the CD. Expected results: Just print the bits from my full page size image to zero margins page I defined for the printer. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: Back in fedora gimp-2.6.4-3.fc10 I could get this printout to work perfectly. That is a problem with GTK+ then. We did not change anything in the print plug-in between 2.6.4 and 2.6.6. If there's a regression due to your system update, then that is likely because of a GTK+ update. Please report this in your distributions bug-tracker.
