Description Vladimir Melo 2009-03-27 13:32:11 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The string "create missing %1 entries" is not clear about the correct tense.
The comment "#. assume successful" makes me think it's supposed to be "created".
So, which one do you mean in this case "creates", "created" or actually "create"?
Other strings have the same issue.

Steps to reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?

Actually, the "assume successfull" comment is not for translators:

http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gparted/trunk/src/DMRaid.cc?revision=1104&view=markup

Right now there is this comment:
#. TO TRANSLATORS: looks like create /dev/mapper entries

But it doesn't help us understand if it's an order, a description, or what.
Comment 2 Curtis Gedak 2009-03-27 17:10:23 UTC
Thank you Vladimir for reporting this bug, and also thank you Leonardo for clarifying the bug.

The correct tense for these statements is the present tense. Hence "create" is indeed the word intended, and not "creates" or "created".

To reduce confusion, I have removed the non-translator comments which said "assume successful". These comments were intended for programmers.

I have also fixed the translation comment to read:

#. TO TRANSLATORS: looks like create missing /dev/mapper entries

Does that help you with translation of the strings?

It makes sense to me
Comment 4 Vladimir Melo 2009-03-27 18:10:43 UTC
Ok, Curtis.
Thanks for your explanation.
Comment 5 Vladimir Melo 2009-03-27 19:10:30 UTC
Last question: does it appear in the task area?
Is this string part of a list of tasks?
Comment 6 Curtis Gedak 2009-03-27 19:15:07 UTC
These strings appear in the GParted details log, and are the list of tasks performed by GParted. GParted adds each task to the log as GParted is performing the task.

This log is available from within the Apply Operations dialogue. After operations are applied, the user has the option of saving this log to a gparted_details.htm file.
Comment 7 Vladimir Melo 2009-03-27 19:30:56 UTC
I think if you explain (in the comment) that this message appears in the log, as a list of tasks performed, it´s gonna be much better. It´s my opinion... thanks once more.
