GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 576029
Only one sig dash when replying to an email
Last modified: 2012-06-11 13:20:04 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I go to send an email, Evolution only includes one sig dash (-) instead of the traditional two (--). If I switch to a new signature, it displays the two dashes; if I then switch back to my original signature, it then includes the two dashes. Evolution just started doing this, I have no idea what the problem is. I am using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex. The problem is reproducible. I just reply to an email. Steps to reproduce: 1. Reply to an email. Actual results: Only one sig dash is present Expected results: Two sig dashes would be present Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: This problem just started happening; I have no idea what I did to precipitate it.
Works fine for me in 2.26.0
Please tell us your exact settings, e.g. HTML or Plain text in composer. Only when replying, or also when writing a new mail?

Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and Evolution 2.26.1 and I can reproduce single dash behavior on signatures. It is reproducible also on each new mail creation with plain text composer. Please, find screen-shot of composer preferences attached.
Reopening since requested information was provided. Thanks, Nikola.
Jeffrey / Nikola: If you have time, could you please check again whether this issue still happens in Evolution 3.2.2 or 3.0.3 and update this report by adding a comment and changing the "Version" field and provide information about your distribution? Thanks a lot.
Jeffrey / Nikola, did you get a chance to reproduce the problem with latest Evolution version ?
