melddoc and dirdiff rely on the default value of the pos arg to UIManager.insert_action_group. Versions of pygtk <= 2.12 do not have a default value for that argument, so the call fails.

Fix:
All calls to UIManager.insert_action_group should explicitly pass a value for pos for backwards compatibility.
