it crashes once again in a gconf function, like in bug #571165, just this time it's not updating on "midnight". It's time to ask gconf developer, because I didn't find anything wrong about the alarm-notification code with respect to access to the global gconf variable, furthermore, this was called by gconf itself, thus the pointer should be alive. Would you mind to ping them, please?
