Description Ricardo 2009-01-28 21:30:49 UTC
Banshee loads fine. If I set it to play an album or playlist or Play queue it will play the first song and when moving to the next song it will stop showing a pop up window with the message: "Problem with Player Engine - Object reference not set to an instance of an object". This usually happens after first son is played, sometimes it plays through 2 songs for the error to show.
After window is closed and error ignored I can continue to play I song before it pops up again.

I am on Linux Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 (Clean install) using PulseAudio as setup by installer (no audio problems with other players like Rhythmbox, Amarok or Flash). Running Banshee 1.4.2 installed from PPA. I had the same behaviour with version 1.4.1. All default extensions are enabled. Last FM set to scrobbleing.

Here is the info from debugging:
exec -a banshee-1 mono /usr/lib/banshee-1/Banshee.exe --redirect-log --play-enqueued

Is this still happening on 1.4.3 or 1.5.0? Does it only happen when you try to play specific files? What file type is it attempting to play?
Comment 2 Ricardo 2009-06-04 06:50:35 UTC
Hi, this was happening on 1.4.2 and previous versions with mp3 and flac files (only formats in my library). Currently I upgraded to Jaunty removed Pulse audio, with version 1.4.3 and seems to work fine. Let me know if you want to look more into the bug, and if you need any other details, as I have a snapshot of my previous installation on an external HDD.

Closing as fixed then. Feel free to re-open if you are still seeing the problem in 1.4.3 or 1.5
