GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 568187
Two bugs in "Tools > Scale images"
Last modified: 2010-03-02 14:08:24 UTC
Please describe the problem: There are two possibilities to resize / scale an image with gThumb: 1. you can use the option "Image > Resize". With this function I didn't have any problems but unfortunately this function works only for one file and not for resizing several images at the same time. 2. you can use the the option "Tools > Scale images". This woks for several images at the same time but this function includes two bugs: Firstly the "keep aspect ratio" option doesn't work (with "Image > Resize" it works): When I vary the width value, the height value doesn't adjust to the width value. Secondly the exif / metadata gets lost when using this function. Steps to reproduce: described above Actual results: described above Expected results: described above Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:

I confirm the both bugs.
No ideas how to solve this bug?
gThumb is being completely rewritten. See http://live.gnome.org/gthumb for details. Resizing has not been re-implemented yet. - Mike
Thanks for your information! So I’m looking forward to the final release. Best regards, Raphael
It's back now since 2.11.2 However there's a little bug for copying the metadata for Canon images. See bug 610389 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 610389 ***
