Description Lionel Dricot 2009-01-04 12:29:45 UTC
- Start a voice call between two empathy on Ubuntu Intrepid
- Clic on "send the video"

The webcam LED will blink (showing that, at least, it's trying to send the video) then stop and no video at all will be send. This webcam works perfectly with Ekiga. Also, often, the connection is closed after that.

This bug still happens with the 2.25 version from deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/telepathy/ubuntu intrepid main

Hi Lionel. stream-engine log would be useful to help us debugging this issue. See http://live.gnome.org/Empathy/Debugging for details.

Stream engine log

This is the log of stream engine for a chat between me (ploum.net) and Guillaume (jabber.belnet.be).

I've started the audio conversation and it was working fine. Then I clicked on "send the video" (the bug happened) then I've waited +- 1 minute before hanging up.

It seems that it only happens for the webcam Philips SPC1300NC
Comment 4 Guillaume Desmottes 2009-01-04 19:56:09 UTC
And you can't get your webcam working using gstreamer-properties, right? In that case that's probably a gstreamer issue.
Comment 5 Lionel Dricot 2009-01-05 14:13:12 UTC
Yep, and it seems related to plugins because after installing multiverse plugins, I have an image (crappy but this is an image). I will have to do more testing
