GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 566061
Japanese Translation coordinate
Last modified: 2010-09-07 16:39:21 UTC
I've updated ja.po file, and it was reviewed at gnome-translation@gnome.gr.jp. Could you commit this?
Created attachment 125533 [details] Japanese Translation file
Thank you Hideki Yamane for updating the Japanese translation of GParted. Normally one of the gnome translation team members with an SVN account will commit the updated file. Is there someone on the Japanese language translation team that can perform the commit on your behalf? Or perhaps you intended to send this bug report to "l10n" instead of "gparted" http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=l10n as described in the "role of the coordinator" instructions located here? http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/LocalisationGuide
Great thanks! I'm newbie for Gnome (and bugzilla), so was confused which component or/and person that I should see. I also have updated totem translation, I'll talk to coordinator at next time. Thanks again :)
And thank you for your contribution to free software. It is much appreciated. :-) I will close this bug with a resolution of "invalid". My assumption is that you will have one of the Japanese team members commit the updated translation on your behalf. If this does not happen, just re-open this bug and I will make the commit so that these changes are not lost. Regards, Curtis Gedak
Takeshi Aihana is nominated as Coordinator at GNOME website (http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/ja), but he said "I'm not coordinator now. I just do translation, and now don't see any mails at Japanese Gnome Users Group mailing list. Your translation is conflicted with my ja.po, so I'll reject this, sorry". Umm, I'm confused... how do I deal with translation for ja.po files? ;-(
It would appear that there is a need for a Japanese Translation Team Coordinator. If this is something you are interested in, then perhaps Takeshi Aihana would consider transferring this role to you. The last update to the Japanese translation of GParted occurred on Mar 15, 2009. http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gparted/trunk/po/ja.po?view=log I can not speak for Takeshi Aihana, but perhaps the ja.po file you submitted was older than the March 15th update? If so then that might be the reason there were translation conflicts and your translation was rejected. You can view the translation status at: http://l10n.gnome.org/module/gparted/ Today, it appears that 302 of 306 strings have been translated. If you are not interested in becoming the Japanese Translation Team Coordinator, then perhaps you start with the most recent file and translate the last 4 strings. Then maybe Takeshi Aihana would commit the changes since there would be no conflicts? Hope that helps :-)
Hi, I became a cordinator of the Japanese translation team. http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-i18n/2009-May/msg00052.html http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-i18n/2009-May/msg00100.html I forgot to comment this bug. Thanks!
Thanks Takayuki KUSANO. It is good to see someone at the helm of this role. Thank you for the updated translation of GParted, Should this bug be closed now?
