Description André Klapper 2008-12-29 20:17:35 UTC
#: ../src/calendar/e-cal-backend-mapi.c:382
#, c-format
msgid "Loading %s items"

Untranslatable to Czech, see
http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/DevGuidelines/Plurals

#. FIXME: better string please...
#: ../src/calendar/e-cal-backend-mapi.c:571
#: ../src/calendar/e-cal-backend-mapi.c:582
#: ../src/calendar/e-cal-backend-mapi.c:608
msgid "Error fetching changes from the server. Removing the cache might help."

yes, that's not helpful to the average user... anyway :)

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-folder.c:1127
#, c-format
msgid ""
"Cannot get message: %s\n"
" %s"

What %s is what here? Why two spaces? How to properly translate?
http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/DevGuidelines/Use%20comments

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-folder.c:1139
msgid "User canceled"

What? The user was canceled?

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-provider.c:51
msgid "Checking for New Mail"

Capitalization is correct here?

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-store.c:61
msgid "Favourites"

That's BE. Gnome is in AE. -> "Favorites"

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-store.c:262
#, c-format
msgid "Exchange MAPI server %s"
#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-transport.c:329
#, c-format
msgid "MAPI server %s"

What is %s here? an URL?
Do these two strings have to be different (one without "Exchange")?

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-store.c:264
#, c-format
msgid "Exchange MAPI for %s on %s"

%s is a user and %s an URL? It's hard to translate "on" correctly without a comment explaining.

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-store.c:298
#, c-format
msgid "%sPlease enter the MAPI password for %s@%s"

What is that first %s? %s@%s is user@host?

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-store.c:320
#, c-format
msgid "Unable to authenticate to Exchange MAPI server. "

Remove whitespace at the end.

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-store.c:663
#, c-format
msgid "Cannot rename MAPI folder `%s'. Folder doesn't exist"

does not

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-store.c:671
#, c-format
msgid "Cannot rename Mapi folder `%s' to `%s'. Default folder."

Here's a fullstop, in the string before there was not. Maybe "because it is a default folder"?

#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-transport.c:331
#, c-format
msgid "MAPI service for %s on %s"
#: ../src/camel/camel-mapi-store.c:264
#, c-format
msgid "Exchange MAPI for %s on %s"

Do these two strings have to be different?
Comment 1 André Klapper 2008-12-29 20:18:45 UTC
"Fetch items failed" -> "Fetching items failed" ?

IIRC, the %s is the name of the folder.. perhaps I can change it to: "Loading items in folder %s" ... what say you?
Comment 3 André Klapper 2009-01-07 12:13:21 UTC
Oh right, it's a %s and not a %d...

"Loading items in folder %s" sounds very good to me.

Guys, keep http://live.gnome.org/TwoPointTwentyfive in mind. We're in string announcement period already. Please fix this soon and announce, so translators can start/don't lose work...

Comment 5 Suman Manjunath 2009-01-15 06:13:18 UTC
Fixed some of the issues in r57
http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/evolution-mapi?view=revision&revision=57

Issues that _still_ remain:

Above are changed already, with actual master (before 2.31.1).
For the rest, just a few of them, I added translator comments.

Created commit d470eb0 in ema master (2.31.1+)
