GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 564028
Include arrow brushes by default in Gimp
Last modified: 2011-11-19 13:36:51 UTC
I really need be able to have arrows for, for example, pointing to some image parts that I want to indicate For now, I am using http://gimphelp.org/arrow_brushes.shtml , that can be downloaded from: http://gimphelp.org/DL/arrow_brushes.tar.bz2 The only problem I see on them is that I am unable to edit arrows from brush gimp editor, but, for now, they are enough for me and better than nothing :-) Thanks a lot

Hi! The licence for the arrows is a bit unclear (not an explicit licence), and since you are not the author of the brushes I'm not sure we want to include the arrows. Closing as INCOMPLETE. GIMP 2.8 will have support for resource tagging so it will soon make complete sense to call for brushes etc to be added, but let's handle that on the gimp-developer mailing list.
What could we do until Gimp 2.8 is released? Looks like it will still take some time and having the ability to draw arrows looks important to me :-/ (I have used that arrows a lot). There are some more arrow sets in the net, maybe we could try to ship another one or try to prepare a new one with arrows :|
