I'd love to see a cover art grid view added to banshee. Why? Because cover art looks pretty, and browsing by covers is a great way of navigating through and choosing music. For many people (myself included), it's easier to associate a particular album to the cover art then just on the name of the album.

Both itunes and wmp have a grid view available, and it's proven to be a useful addition. You can see what they look like at these links:

Maybe it's possible to copy f-spot's photo browsing view? (since both banshee & f-spot are coded in c#) The zoom function in this view would be a great addition to grid view!

I've attached a possible mockup of what this could look like.

Grid view has been added in 1.5.5, closing as FIXED.

Grid view bugs should be opened as new reports then, I think?
Comment 4 Gabriel Burt 2010-03-22 18:19:22 UTC
Definitely, but please test 1.5.6 (or master) first - there were a ton of fixes post-1.5.5.
Comment 5 Wouter Bolsterlee (uws) 2010-03-22 18:48:36 UTC
Were those fixes related to (i) redrawing issues and (ii) focus/keyboard navigation? Those are the two areas were I experience some issues.

(Oh, and sorry for hijacking the closed report. :))

Thanks for the pointers. That saves me from filing new bug reports. The issues seems to have been solved.

(And this report is now officially closed — sorry for the spam.)
