Description Dan Jacobson 2008-11-25 05:41:27 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The same file looks great in xpdf here on Debian, but like sh*t in evince.
However some Chinese files also look OK in evince.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download http://etdncku.lib.ncku.edu.tw/ETD-db/ETD-search/getfile?URN=etd-0120105-131852&filename=etd-0120105-131852.pdf
2. read it with evince
3.

Actual results:
Chinese is either missing, or in wispy character fragments.

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?

You need to install poppler-data package.
Comment 2 Dan Jacobson 2008-11-25 05:59:26 UTC
OK, now it looks good... up until page 3,
the page with 授權書 at top.
Then the characters look all blown apart. xpdf has no problem though.
