Description lcid-fire 2008-11-23 18:41:39 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I have some tracks from a album where banshee plays totally other tracks. My theory how this happened is...

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make sure "Update file and folder names" is disabled.
2. Import a cd where banshee is not able to lookup the metadata.
3. Enter all the metadata in banshee manually.
4. Import a second cd where banshee is again not able to lookup the metadata.
5. Try to play e.g. the first track of the former imported cd

Actual results:
The tracks of the second cd have overwritten the ones imported of the first cd.

Expected results:
The first imported tracks should remain present - obviously banshee is missing a filename integrity check.

Does this happen every time?
I'm not very eager to try this out again - but I fear so.

Other information:
When I issue:
select * from CoreTracks where Uri like '%Unknown Artist/Unknown Album%'
I can see that nowadays the Tracks have a filename 'Nr. Track Nr.ext' - whereas in former times (banshee 0.x) the filename was automatically changed when the metadata was changed (which makes totally sense) - and this problem was much more unlikely to happen (as long as you don't bulk import many cds without editing the metadata).

Quoting myself in Ubuntu bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/348502:
