Hm, I don't know what to make of this. Is the bug reproducable? Can you try with the latest stable Epiphany release (2.24.x)?
Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this. I assumed it was the address input widget's filter-as-the-user-types feature going awry.

Nice spot! So this has happened twice to me... but not in a reproducible way. :(

Could anyone please provide a reproducable scenario for this bug on the latest stable release (2.24.x)?

Looks to me like this could be a GTK+ problem. Anyone?
It's a gecko bug. Not exactly the same crash, but I think it should be fixed by the patch in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451341 .

(From bug 570563): What were you doing when the application crashed? Typing a few characters in the address bar of a newly opened Epiphany window. The completion popup appears (and currently covers a large part of my screen since it is not nuked as long as GDB/bug-buddy is running). It seems a crash triggered right after the drop down shows up, but before it is drawn: the window is there, but it does not show any contents.

I am coming here from Bug 57994. The bug was reproduceable whenever my LiveJournal wanted to display a pop-up prompt, "Restore from saved draft?" Firefox handles this without error using the same xulrunner.
