GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 560609
Bluemax Bluetooth GPS Receiver GPS-009 can't pair
Last modified: 2009-04-07 23:08:44 UTC
Similar to : http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=560315 Because of the new fixed random+hardcoded pin, this device cannot be paired anymore : root@localhost: ~ # sudo hcitool scan Scanning ... 00:18:96:D0:66:55 GW-GPS-009 default pin: 0000 (will try to get more informations on the device)
Could you also give the output of "hcitool inq" for that device?
I have got the same device, hcitool inq says: eeepc:~$ hcitool inq Inquiring ... 00:18:96:D1:54:F4 clock offset: 0x53df class: 0x001f00 Hope this helps. I think it makes most sense to allow the user to override i.e. chose the BT PIN; the current method of posting errors + patching fixes is not only annoying to both user and developer, it also takes time - I will now have to wait for months until I will be able to use my beloved GPS mouse ;) thanks anyway for your help.
Fixed in SVN trunk: http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gnome-bluetooth?view=revision&revision=463
