Please describe the problem:
Brasero doesn't copy track & album info to audio CD and project doesn't save those details neither.

Reported at
http://www.uluga.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=953045

Steps to reproduce:
1. load tracks to be burned
2. Set the track infos : name, composer, ...
3. Burn CD
4. Save the project

Actual results:
track infos are no saved in project and don't appear on CD

Expected results:
track infos saved in project and appearing on CD

Does this happen every time?
Affirmative

Other information:
version coming with Ubuntu 8.10 installed no later than this summer but not updated because no internet access on the machine( yes ) will try and update the bug report with version number

Thanks for the report. I fixed the problem with projects not saving information in SVN trunk. You may want to try it.
As for CDs, it appears libburn is unable to burn CD-TEXT information and you probably use this module. I'll try to add support for CD-TEXT to libburn.
How did you check for that CD-TEXT information were not written on the CD by the way? There are few programs that do that.

I fixed the remaining bit. It turns out libburn can't burn CD-TEXT ATM. So now after the lastest changes brasero will use the burning backends that can like wodim and cdrecord.
Thanks again for the report.

I have a similar issues in Brasero 0.8.2-0ubuntu1.

I downloaded http://podcast.kingschurchjax.com/012509samw.mp3
(Note: Prior to this, I also noticed that Brasero does not save title/artist info too. Hope to see it in Ubuntu soon. Also, the CD name, from the burn dialog, is not saved. This should be saved too.)
Changed the mp3 tags using rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.2
Dragged it into an Audio CD project - everything was fine
I let Brasero transcode and build the image, then burnt all at once

It finished, re-inserted the disk, was mounted OK as audio disc
Loaded it in to rythmbox to test playback and the tags were a mess:
Title: ¤f¤~°V½m¯Z(¤G)5B 29-3-07
Artist: ¾¤Ä£¥Á
Album: ¤f¤~°V½m¯Z(¤G)

Only thing correct was track number: 01. Same output using sound-juicer 2.24.0-0ubuntu1

Original tags (Audio tab under Properties using nautilus):
Title: The Grace and Greatness of God
Artist: The King's Church
Album: Unknown [blank]

At one point, I had the Title as "The Grace and Greatness of God (01-29-09)" inside Brasero only, it seems like this kinda stuck somehow seeing the 29-3-07 in the fubar'd Title.

That's about it.

P.S. sound-juicer seems to get the CD-TEXT from the cd before it checks the musicbrainz database... Also, rhythmbox seems to get CD-TEXT as well, since it loaded up the jibberish on my CD. And, this has been true well before 2008-11-15. In my experience: "There are few programs that [don't] do that."

Correction:
...I had the Title as "The Grace and Greatness of God (01-25-09)"...

@Derek: please update to the latest possible version and see if you still have it. The best would be trunk for testing. If it doesn't work then reopen the bug.
Don't forget to provide a log file (brasero -g --brasero-media-debug > log 2>&1) as well.
Thanks

I really don't feel like burning the CD again...it wasn't even for me!

Plus, to test properly, I'd have to re-burn with my current version (to duplicate the problem), then upgrade to trunk and re-burn again (to determine if it is fixed).

Is there no other way? Would burning the Audio CD to an image (iso) work the same way as burning to a CD from CD-TEXT's perspective? That way I could just mount the image using archive mounter...

Also, I tested "brasero -g --brasero-media-debug > log 2>&1" and it does nothing on my system, not even a CLI error is displayed. Do I need <package>-dev/dbg installed?
