Description kapil 2008-11-11 09:19:41 UTC
Please describe the problem:
if I do gst-inspect qtmux, I am just able to inspect details of element qtmux (which is just one feature of qtmux), other features like gppmux, mp4mux &mj2mux cant be observed.
So to see these features I need to do gst-inspect | grep qtmux.

Steps to reproduce:
1. gst-inspect qtmux
2. gst-inspect | grep qtmux

Actual results:

Expected results:
gst-inspect qtmux should display all the features, that are part of qtmux plugin.

Does this happen every time?
yes

I suppose/hope you mean rename the plugin qtmux (and not the element) to e.g. quicktimemux (until move from -bad to -good, upon which it can integrate into quicktime), since qtmux is properly symmetric to qtdemux.
Comment 2 David Schleef 2008-11-11 19:56:02 UTC
qtmux is not the only collision between names of plugins and names of elements (actually, factories). There's never been much interest in fixing this, because gst-inspect is the only place where they're confused. Please fix gst-inspect (maybe add --plugin) if you care.

        * tools/gst-inspect.c: (main):
        Add --plugin option. Fixes #560301.
