GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 559690
Window unmaximized when presenting from notification area (tray) icon
Last modified: 2020-03-17 08:35:42 UTC
When bringing up Banshee from the notification area icon, it is not maximized even if it was before. Steps to reproduce: 1. Maximize Banshee. 2. Click tray icon to hide Banshee. 3. Click tray icon again to show Banshee. 4. Window is unmaximized.

Confirming. This is very annoying. I have just showed Bansee, changed a song and clicked at the top right corner of the screen (where the "X" button should be). Result: I closed an app in the background :/ It also makes the scrolling harder - can't just put my cursor to the right bound of the screen (which is easy - see Fitts' law).

From downstream (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311803), this only happens with Metacity, not with Compiz.
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again. See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
