Comment 1 Tim-Philipp Müller 2009-04-14 12:04:24 UTC
Any context you can provide with this? (Architecture/cpu/distro/etc.)

Does this still happen with an up-to-date version of gst-plugins-base (ie. 0.10.22 or git)?

Don't blame me for the horrible way this webpage "formats" correct pastes please :/
Comment 4 Tim-Philipp Müller 2009-04-17 00:18:08 UTC
I suspect this is essentially the same problem as bug #512740, even if the symptoms are not exactly identical.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 512740 ***
Comment 5 Carlo Wood 2009-04-17 16:19:45 UTC
This is not a duplicate of that bug.
We had some problems (off list) to get the git testsuite to run
related to THAT bug, but using the gst-uninstalled script solved
this.

The bug that I reported is indeed still in git:

Comment 6 Tim-Philipp Müller 2009-04-17 16:38:38 UTC
Ok, could you please provide a stack trace with the origin of the first warning then? G_DEBUG=fatal_warnings and GST_REGISTRY_FORK=no may come in handy.
Comment 7 Jan Schmidt 2009-04-17 16:51:06 UTC
The tests are all passing without warnings for me (on Fedora, using uninstalled
gst)

Maybe running (in tests/check in gst-plugins-base):

GST_DEBUG=check:4 make generic/states.check

would also help shed some light on exactly which element is outputting the warnings.

Comment 9 Carlo Wood 2009-04-17 17:20:16 UTC
Running it with GST_DEBUG=check:4 shows that the problem is
in element v4lsrc.

Funny thing, running
GST_REGISTRY_FORK=no G_DEBUG=fatal_warnings GST_DEBUG=check:4 make generic/states.check

works fine 5 out of 10 times, while

GST_REGISTRY_FORK=no GST_DEBUG=check:4 make generic/states.check

always fails. So, some race condition seems to be
involved.

This should fix it. If not, please re-open.
