Description Benjamin Kahn 2008-10-24 14:23:15 UTC
I would like to be able to unsubscribe from a podcast if I am no longer interested in it.

Other information:
I was able to unsubscribe by using the sqlite3 application to edit the banshee.db configuration database.

Then I also had to delete the stored episodes as well.
Comment 1 Benjamin Kahn 2008-10-24 14:40:13 UTC
So with the browser open, this is obvious.

right click on the podcast in the list and select "unsubscribe and delete".

With the browser closed there is no way to do it.

So this bug is a feature request to add a way to make it possible to manage subscriptions from the right click menu on the "Podcasts" item on the left nav and maybe allow you to unsubscribe from a podcast when you click on one of its entries in the episode list.
Comment 2 Alan McGovern 2008-10-24 14:42:42 UTC
I second the vote on being able to manage podcasts by right-clicking on the main 'Podcasts' item.

To me, that's the most logical place for me to manage my podcasts from. I know I couldn't figure out how to unsubscribe from a podcast the first time I used the podcasting features because the option was not available in the main pane.
Comment 3 Bertrand Lorentz 2008-10-24 16:50:29 UTC
Updating summary.

But I like the way it works now : right-click on what you want to remove/unsubscribe.
Comment 4 Alan McGovern 2008-10-24 17:00:06 UTC
Aye, i'm not suggesting the existing management mechanism is replaced. I'd just like this added as an additional option.

On the current version of trunk at least, right-clicking a podcast in the browser does not even present an unsubscribe option, so AFAICT you can't unsubscribe from podcasts in trunk at all.

Nevermind, my issue seems to be #560210.

I think the current system needs some usability improvements.

I could not figure out how to unsubscribe.

It makes sense to me now, but i just did not know until i read this bugreport.

Bulk changing the assignee to banshee-maint@gnome.bugs to make it easier for people to get updated on all banshee bugs by following that address. It's usually quite apparent who is working on a given bug by the comments and/or patches attached.
Comment 9 André Klapper 2020-03-17 08:19:57 UTC
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
