Description Sebastian Dröge (slomo) 2008-10-06 09:48:35 UTC
We should lower the RANK of mpegpsdemux to MARGINAL for next release. Otherwise it will have a higher rank than the mpeg demuxer from gst-plugins-ugly and we should give it some more testing before making it the preffered mpeg ps demuxer.
Comment 1 Jan Schmidt 2008-10-06 10:25:52 UTC
I've been using the Fluendo PS demuxer as my preferred MPEG demux for about 2 years now - I consider it fairly well tested.
Comment 2 Sebastian Dröge (slomo) 2008-10-07 13:23:03 UTC
Good point but then we might have (and we have) regressions over the demuxer from -ugly (bug #553755 for example, bilboed was talking about some more). Do you still think that we should keep it's rank as is or shall we first make sure that there are no regressions?
Comment 3 Jan Schmidt 2008-10-10 23:46:01 UTC
I'm happy that it's an improvement over the existing mpegdemux in gst-plugins-ugly, but I'd like to hear about any specific concerns people have.

In the meantime, I'm planning to make the first gst-plugins-bad 0.10.8.2 pre-release with the rank as-is
Comment 4 Jan Schmidt 2008-10-21 12:26:39 UTC
I think we should leave it as it is still. Any objections?
Comment 5 Sebastian Dröge (slomo) 2008-10-21 15:34:29 UTC
No, that's fine then I guess :)
