Description Louis 2008-10-01 16:50:28 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When using 2 or more scenarios, the output table for the scenarios offsets the 2nd and remaining scenario 'Changing cells' list three cells down. In addition to being offset, this also leads to the last rows of the 'Changing Cells' section being overwritten by 'Results'

Steps to reproduce:
1. (using attached spreadsheet) In the model tab, select Tools -> Scenario -> View
2. Selection 'Options' tab
3. For Results, select 'Model!E4:E18'
4. Select 'View' tab
5. Click on 'Create Report'

Actual results:
Look in new 'Scenario Summary (2)' tab. Column B is the current setting. Column C is aligned correctly. The 'Changed Cells' section of Columns D and E are offset 3 cells down, overlapping into the 'Results' sections

Expected results:
'Changed Cells' section in Scenario Summary should begin on Row 4 for all scenarios

Does this happen every time?
Yes, when more then two scenarios are being used

Other information:
Spreadsheet being used is from

Spreadsheet with example for Bug 554591

Bug can be reproduced by selecting 'Model' tab, then selecting Tools -> Scenarios -> View.

Then in the 'Options' Tab, select cells 'Model!E4:E18'

Select 'View' Tab, then click 'Create Report'
After results appear, click 'OK'

hmm, "create report" is not active to be clicked

Spreadsheet with example for Bug 554591

With scenarios used in example saved under Tools -> Scenarios
Comment 5 Louis 2008-10-02 14:38:42 UTC
The scenarios that are saved in the Gnumeric Spreadsheet are lost when uploading. To create the scenarios 'Optimistic' and 'Pessimistic' and Create Scenario

1. Enter the following in the 'Model' tab
B4: 22000
B10: 45
B11: .8
B13: .09

2.  Select Tools -> Scenarios -> Add
3. In 'Changing Cells' select '$B$4:$B$12'
4. In 'Scenario Name' enter 'Optimistic'
5. Click on 'OK'

6. Enter the following in the 'Model' tab
B4: 18000
B10: 35
B11: .7
B13: .07

7.  Select Tools -> Scenarios -> Add
8. In 'Changing Cells' select '$B$4:$B$12'
9. In 'Scenario Name' enter 'Pessimistic'
10. Click on 'OK'

11. Enter the following in the 'Model' tab
B4: 20000
B10: 40
B11: .75
B13: .08

12.  Select Tools -> Scenarios -> View
13. In tab 'Options' Enter the following in Reporting - Result Cells
'Model!E4:E18'
14. In tab 'View', click on Create Report
15. Click 'OK'
The newest Scenario Summary (1) sheet will have three columns (B, C, D). Column D will be offset.

In addition, it seems that the last scenario will have the current values for the output (not the values that correspond to the last scenario). This will be the case when there are more then two named scenarios as well. (the last scenario result cells are incorrect)

Comment 6 Andreas J. Guelzow 2008-10-02 19:24:52 UTC
Hi,

What do you mean with "The scenarios that are saved in the Gnumeric Spreadsheet are lost when uploading."

Are you saying that they are not saved in the gnumeric file? That would be a bug in its own right.
Comment 7 Andreas J. Guelzow 2008-10-03 01:46:25 UTC
There seem to be lots of strange stuff going on here. After the scenario summary was created the scenarios are gone from the Tools -> Scenarios -> View.

Comment 8 Andreas J. Guelzow 2008-10-03 02:16:13 UTC
The offset happens fo all changing cells that are in a second (or later scenario). The size of the offset depends on the location of the cell on the model page. This is easy to fix.

I do _not_ see that the last scenarios have the current values. Rather the result cell for the current values appear to be incorrect.
Comment 9 Andreas J. Guelzow 2008-10-03 02:21:11 UTC
The mis-alignment is fixed. Changing the subject.
Comment 10 Louis 2008-10-07 16:17:57 UTC
This is correct, the result for Column B (Current Values) in the results should be:

B15: 8000

B18: 320000

B20: $20,000
B21: 25000
B22: 257600
B23: 302600

B25: 17400

B28: 5769.23
B29: 0.05769
Comment 11 Andreas J. Guelzow 2009-11-30 08:09:09 UTC
With the recent changes to the solver/scenarios I would assume that this may be fixed. UNfortunately I can't follow the description in this report anymore.

Morten?
Comment 12 Morten Welinder 2009-11-30 13:32:26 UTC
Well, I killed the report generation for the time being so in that sense
this bug is definitely gone.
Comment 13 Andreas J. Guelzow 2010-07-29 00:18:59 UTC
With the report generation gone, so should be this bug.
