GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 553342
Messages with unclear meaning
Last modified: 2008-10-03 22:07:10 UTC
Please describe the problem: The following messages has unclear meaning: #: ../src/workbook-view.c:355 #, c-format msgid "%dC" #: ../src/workbook-view.c:357 #, c-format msgid "%dR" #: ../src/workbook-view.c:359 #, c-format msgid "%dR x %dC" Steps to reproduce: Actual results: I don't know how make a good translation of these messages. Expected results: I expect a comment explaining the meaning of these messages. Does this happen every time? Other information:
Hmm, I wouldn't have thought there is anything unclear about this in a spreadsheet program that deals with rows and columns.
This should be explained to avoid incorrect translations.
Andreas: while true, we should probably not expect translators to be spreadsheet guys. For now... msgid "%dC" msgid "%dR" msgid "%dR x %dC" These describe the size of areas: so and so many columns, rows, or rows-by-columns.
This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
