Description Olivier Cortes 2008-09-21 08:59:24 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When posting a comment to any bug on launchpad, it doesn't work because It seems webkit backend posts an empty attachment, instead of not posting it at all.

under gecko engine the problem does not appear, I can't use launchpad flawlessly.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Log into Launchpad.
2. Try to add a comment on any bug.

Actual results:
Launchpad complains “the attachment can't be empty” and the comment can't be posted.

Expected results:
The comment should be validated, without any attachment, as attachments are purely optionnal on launchpad.

Does this happen every time?
YES !!

Other information:
this is already reported on launchpad at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webkit/+bug/248814/

Is this problem reproducable with another webkit-based browser like Midori?
Comment 2 Olivier Cortes 2008-09-21 16:39:02 UTC
reading the launchpad bug, it seems yes. The problem seems to come from webkit itself.
But as far as i'm concerned, I didn't test with midori.

Can you please find out if there is a bug already filed against webkit for this problem?
Comment 4 Olivier Cortes 2008-10-14 14:58:15 UTC
Hi and sorry for the delay (quite busy on ubuntu intrepid bug tracking).

I didn't find any bug against webkit about this particular problem. Related ones are :

https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14232
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19005

But I think they don't apply to the problem described here.

I will re-try if the bug still exists on Intrepid's webkit, and file a bug in the webkit bugzilla.

Thanks! Marking as NOTGNOME then.
