Ekiga 3 on Fedora 10 beta on 1024x600 screen (84.97 KB, image/png)

Description Peter Robinson 2008-09-19 08:52:42 UTC
on a eeePC 901 with a 1024x600 screen the ekiga startup wizard is completely unusable because it doesn't fit in the screen. On a eeePC 701 which has a 800x480 screen this would be even worse.

I cannot reproduce this issue with Ekiga 3.0 in Ubuntu 8.10. The wizard window fits fine with 1024x600 resolution. Screenshot attached. I think this report can be closed.

Ekiga 3 on Fedora 10 beta on 1024x600 screen

Well this is what it looks like at 1024 x 600 on Fedora 10 beta.
Comment 4 Peter Robinson 2008-10-03 15:28:25 UTC
Reopening as this is still an issue on Fedora 10 Beta
Comment 5 Damien Sandras 2008-10-03 15:45:53 UTC
Peter, your font is abnormally huge!
Comment 6 Peter Robinson 2008-10-03 16:01:47 UTC
Its the standard Fedora one, clean Fedora 10 beta install with the default theme.
Comment 7 Eugen Dedu 2008-10-03 16:08:19 UTC
A solution would be to add vertical scrollbars when the window is too small. This will allow to use it on PDAs too... :o)

This is the default font for such a resolution?

Is that seriously meant to be like that (by the Fedora team)?
Comment 9 Darren Fulton 2008-11-30 21:23:32 UTC
Please consider this bug confirmed and work for a resolution if you can. On the eeePC 701 which has a screen resolution of 800x480 (and any other device with a very small screen), this issue causes the program to be unusable.

Ekiga is not under active development anymore:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/-/issues/273

Ekiga saw its last release 7 years ago. The last code commits were 4 years ago.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (and transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active Ekiga development again in the future.
