-> GtkFileChooser

You're refering to GtkFileChooser, not Nautilus, which is just the file manager, reassigning.
BTW, I find this a bad idea, but it may depend on how many bookmarks you have and how much you use them.
Comment 3 Andrey 2008-09-13 13:00:26 UTC
I report this bug because consider that quick access links which user choose for himself should have more priority to get best place in compare with system-setted quick links (volumes).
It can be named "adaptive usability behaviour".

please, bring this on usability@gnome.org and have the usability team give its input - otherwise the discussion is completely moot.
Comment 5 Christian Dywan 2008-09-14 02:29:39 UTC
For what I want, all hard disks being in the list is what can make bookmarks hard to use. So removing them would already help. Maybe a single "Computer" item instead of all individuals could do the trick, then for anyone who needs to see all disks, they are still easily accessible.

OS X Finder and file chooser sidebar prefs

Perhaps we just need finer-grained control over the sidebar contents, like OS X has...?
