GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 551695
Translator comment for »share« required
Last modified: 2008-10-16 15:24:22 UTC
Please describe the problem: The msgid #: ../baobab/src/baobab-remote-connect-dialog.c:491 msgid "_Share:" msgstr "_Freigabe:" is difficult to translate since translators cannot decide whether »share« is used as a verb or a noun. Please provide a translator comment Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
This is the same dialog as nautilus-connect-server, so strings are the same and should keep the same meaning.
Fabio: exactly - so you should add a comment on top of the string, like: /* Translators: this is the same string used by the nautilus-connect-server * so it should be translated the same way */ gettext will pick the comment up and put it inside the .pot file for the translators to use as a context.
Fabio: see http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/DevGuidelines/Use%20comments
I did add the comment for translators to the code.
So if it's fixed, feel free to close as FIXED. That's how bug reports work. ;-)
This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
