Description Milo Casagrande 2008-09-06 15:42:42 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The strings referring to Ctrl, Alt and Shift in the capplet are not set as translatable. Some languages use different words for those keys (i.e. in Italian we use Maiusc for Shift) and the shortcuts could probably collide with other stock buttons or other elements in the applet.

Steps to reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Trivia patch

This patch sets as translatable those 6 strings.
Comment 2 Milo Casagrande 2008-09-06 15:46:46 UTC
BTW, if it's going to be applied, is it possible to ask for a string freeze break for 2.24?
Comment 3 Gerd Kohlberger 2008-09-06 16:16:40 UTC
Thanks for the patch Milo. I think we don't need a freeze break for this change. I'd say this falls under: "Marking a message for translation that was previously not marked for translation by accident." and an announcement mail should be enough.
Comment 4 André Klapper 2008-09-06 16:52:40 UTC
Yupp, this is not a freeze break, but announcement appreciated.

In general: Some strings in mousetweaks could really use translator comments. The last time I took a look at the strings it was VERY hard to translate it correctly if you just see the strings and don't use the application itself. (I know this is vague criticism.)
Comment 5 Gerd Kohlberger 2008-09-06 17:09:29 UTC
Thanks for the confirmation Andre.

I can imaging that some parts are hard to translate, I'll add some comments over the next days. If there are specific strings that need clarification, it would be nice to get bug reports.
