Description Simone Tolotti 2008-09-03 18:23:30 UTC
Please describe the problem:

I have a working DVB-S card (works well with kaffeine and xine).
I have dvb-channels.conf in ~/.gstreamer-0.10
I run Totem and select "Watch TV on 'DVB Adapter 0'", channels are correctly loaded in playlist box.
I select a FTA (free to air) channel and wait...
After few seconds the playback starts but is jerky (about 2 secs between each frame) and no audio.

I had success running: totem-xine dvb://channelname
In this case playback is good.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Run Totem
2. Click on 'Watch TV on adapter 0' in 'Movie' menu.
3. Select a channel from the list

Actual results:
The TV channel loads after few seconds but the playback is jerky and the sound is missing.

Expected results:
A good audio/video playback.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Other information:
Totem with xine backend plays correctly if started from command line.
eg. totem-xine dvb://channelname

This is likely to be a GStreamer problem with the MPEG demuxing, and PulseAudio clock.

In Totem 2.30.x, we use gnome-dvb-daemon to stream the TV channels in Totem, so the problem should be solved.

Please reopen the bug if the problem still exists, and grab a full debug output when reproducing the problem, as per http://projects.gnome.org/totem/#bugs
