Last modified: 2020-11-06 19:57:56 UTC
Please describe the problem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/231132 First! Sorry for my bad english. Binary package hint: gnome-panel When creating a new Application launcher in the Panel, the launcher will not save the entered text if special Characters ("äöü...") are used for the command Example for malfunction ----------------------------------- Type: Anwendung Name: Hörbücher Command: hörbücher Kommentar: The launcher will not do anything when clicked and when its properties are viewed all fields are empty, including icon. An Example that works ----------------------------------- Type: Anwendung Name: Hörbücher Command: hoerbuecher Kommentar: ---------------------------------------- When a launcher is created on the Desktop it works fine with special characters in the command field! When I move the launcher from Desktop to Panel it works too. When I move a launcher from Desktop to Panel and modifiying the command line (hörbücher) it works but when I make a restart the Panel-launcher have empty fields. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new Application-Launcher in a panel. The Field Command have Characters like äöü in his name. Example: Command = Hörbücher.sh 2. Logout or restart 3. Start the Launcher Actual results: The Program not start. All Fields in the Launcher-Properties are empty. Expected results: The Program starts. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/231132 I have it report on Ubuntu launchpad. Gutsy and Hardy have the same Problem. GNOME 2.22.3 and "Das GNOME-Panel" 2.22.2 have the same Problem.
In Ubuntu 9.10 = GNOME 2.28.1 the Bug is fixed
