Description Jan 2008-08-25 17:20:33 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I store all my passwords in a password manager. When I try to send an signed e-mail with Thunderbird+Enigmail, it asks me to enter my password. As far as I know(found out), the small window that appears, is part of seahorse. When this window appears and asks me to enter my (GPG) password, it blocks nearly the whole desktop: I'm no longer able to switch to the desktop of my password manager, for example. But I can circumvent this a bit. (This 'desktop block' is very annoying, but not the main problem.) The main problem is: I cannot paste the password in the window! Nothing happens when I try it. My password has more than 30 characters, created by the password manager(which means, it's a random sequence of characters, very hard type in manually.) I always just copy&paste my passwords from the password manager. Is there any easy fix or workaround? Any configuration option?

You could store the passphrase securely in gnome-keyring. You would have to enter it manually once and then it would be provided automatically in the future.

Go to System -> Preferences -> Encryption and Keyrings

On the PGP Passphrases tab, select Always remember passphrases whenever logged in and additionally if you want to be asked before it's provided check the box next to Ask me before using a cached passphrase.
