GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 548645
search type selection not working
Last modified: 2008-08-20 18:31:45 UTC
the bug has been described on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/259178 "1. Ubuntu 8.04 2. Nautilus 2.22.3 3. Nautilus had bug in previous version of Ubuntu and it's fixed. But I think I found one more. I could not find anything about it, on net and here... Maybe I am missing something? a. Click Search button b. enter 'gf' and hit 'Enter' (keyboard) c. I get lots of files d. click 'plus icon' - to add new criterion ("Add a new criterion to this search") e. File Type - I choose 'Picture' (or Music, or Text File, etc.) f. Click Reload I expected to get only pictures as result of search. 4. I got all file types: pictures, text files, music, pdf, etc... everything that matches 'gf'. I should get only pictures. P.s. I get no result when performing search in Open dialog box too."
Thanks, good catch! This was a typo from GIO migration - I fixed it in trunk, and in the GNOME 2.22 branch: http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/nautilus?view=revision&revision=14500 http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/nautilus?view=revision&revision=14501 Distributors: Feel free to pull the patch into your releases.
Thank you. You fixed first bug, what about 'P.s.'. Did you fix that bug too? :)))
> You fixed first bug, what about 'P.s.'. Did you fix that bug too? No I didn't. It is not in the scope of Nautilus (the “Open Dialog” is the GTK+ file chooser), and in my specific setup the search seems to work. It would be great if you could open a bug report against Ubuntu's GTK+ on launchpad.
OK. Thanks. I will later...
Not a bug, indexing was off...
