I have developed a new plugin based on textoverlay, called videoke. It's job is to do karaoke style text overlay with character outlining and colour wipe.

Code available via svn from http://scripts.sil.org/svn-public/utilities/videoke/trunk (also web interface). All comments and suggestions welcomed. I'm hoping someone may take this and add it to plugins-bad

Could you merge all changes that were added to textoverlay since then? Also, wouldn't it be possible to add this as an additional feature to textoverlay or as another subclass of textoverlay?
