GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 547000
Support for gadu-gadu
Last modified: 2008-09-26 17:15:56 UTC
Originally report here: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/256206 Support to connecting to gadu-gadu accounts should be added to Empathy.
I guess all we need is a to ship a profile. Would be great if someone who is actually using Gadu-Gadu could write one.
I am using Gadu-Gadu but I don’t know what “profile” means in this context (and I don’t know much about Gadu-Gadu internals). Anyway, Pidgin supports: • Registering GG accounts • Sending, receiving & clearing the list of contacts on the server (contacts are normally stored on the client side, with explicit actions to export them) • Getting information about a user with the given ID • Searching for a user with the given values of search fields and there are some GG features that Pidgin does not support, like sending files and VoIP.
qrczak, not Pidgin but libpurple. Empathy already is able to use libpurple (-haze), so it wouldn't be hard. > there are some GG features that Pidgin does not support, like sending files > and VoIP. Forgot sending images. Also, a new feature is avatar support introduced by GG 8.x.
Empathy 2.24 now has a profile for Gadu-Gadu. Closing this bug.
Guillaume, is profile equal to real support of protocol?
Jakub: profile means Empathy can establish Gadu-Gadu connections using telepathy-haze. If you have problems or miss features then you should open a new bug on Empathy and/or Haze for each one.
