GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 545859
gok mishandles configure notify events
Last modified: 2011-10-14 10:59:23 UTC
Forwarded from https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=203258: === Is working but GOK doesn't seem to handle configure notify events correctly, which makes it think that the on-screen keyboard is at a different location on screen than it is. Can be reproduced in 10.3 but it's not an Xgl or compiz issue. === I'm not sure I can help debug this. Maybe contact David directly if you need help?
Thanks for the report! This might well explain some intermittent problems with GOK window geometry. Adding Gerd to cc list. Note: I can't look at this soon.
I've just tested version 1.4.0 (using core-pointer mode) on openSUSE 11 and everything seems to work fine. I didn't notice any difference between X and XGL with either compiz or metacity.
gok (GNOME on-screen keyboard) development has been stalled and it has been replaced by caribou [1]. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing all the bugs as WONTFIX. [1] https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-bugsquad/2011-October/msg00001.html
