GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 545713
FUSA screws with keyboard navigation in the panel
Last modified: 2011-06-10 12:25:14 UTC
On my Ubuntu Intrepid box with the latest GNOME 2.23.5 installed (FUSA 2.22.0), I'm experiencing some very bad keyboard navigation issues that seem to be caused by FUSA. :-( Here's a test case -- DON'T USE THE MOUSE: 1) Press Ctrl+Alt+Tab to get to the top or bottom panel where the FUSA lives. 2) Tab to the FUSA. Use the arrow keys to bring up the list of users (I think Right arrow should do it). 3) Now, attempt to Tab or Shift+Tab away from the FUSA. You will notice that you can get one object away, but the next Tab or Shift+Tab sucks you right back to the FUSA and you're basically screwed from there. :-( This is a very bad problem for keyboard only users as it can render the panel useless. My only suggestion for users right now is to remove the FUSA from the panel, but it would be nice to get this fixed in FUSA.
fast-user-switch-applet development has been stalled and it has been unmaintained for a few years now. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing the bugs as WONTFIX. Please feel free to reopen the bugs in future if anyone takes the responsibility of active development.
