Description Li Yuan 2008-07-30 02:57:12 UTC
It is unable to navigate the chat history area using keyboard. The caret mode should be turned on by pressing F7, and the caret can get into the chat history area.

Sorry, but what is the caret mode? How can I turn it on? is it an accessibility thing?
Comment 2 Li Yuan 2008-07-30 08:44:34 UTC
Caret mode puts cursor into the text area, let user select text with keyboard. A good example will be Firefox. Just press F7 in Firefox.

Li Yuan, thanks for reporting this. I can reproduce in Empathy 2.27.9x on GNOME 2.26.1 on Ubuntu 9.04.

Seems like there are three main places we need to support mouseless scrolling: Chat window, log viewer, contact list. The contact list seems to support the up and down arrows, as does the Previous Conversations log viewer. The chat window does not.
