GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 544853
ekiga-snapshot 20080724 fails to install. unmet dependencies.
Last modified: 2008-08-04 13:20:44 UTC
Steps to reproduce: I was asked in bug #334470 to install an SVN snapshot Stack trace: nothing here, keep moving... Other information: duncan@duncan-laptop:~$ sudo apt-get install ekiga-snapshot Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: ekiga-snapshot: Depends: libopal-snapshot (= 20080724-1) but it is not going to be installed or libopal-snapshot-ptrace (= 20080724-1) but it is not going to be installed or libopal-snapshot-develop (= 20080724-1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: libpopt0 (>= 1.14) but 1.10-3build1 is to be installed Depends: libxcb-render-util0 but it is not installable E: Broken packages duncan@duncan-laptop:~$
Closing as it's not really a software bug, but I did report to our snapshot packagers
Hi Duncan, Is the problem in debian or ubuntu?
Hello Duncan, I'm packaging for Ubuntu. Please provide me: -your distro version (e.g. 8.04) -your repository: either snapshot.ekiga.org or either the ppa. Most probably the issue is: I did not had enough time to finish the packaging today... I'll fix this problem tomorrow. Best regards, Yannick
Duncan, this problem has been fixed, could you check please?
I still get exactly the same message with the only difference that the version is now 20080731-1.
Duncan, You are using Debian, right? Regards, Yannick
Well, sort of. Ubuntu 8.04 I will try it with Ubuntu 8.10 in the next few days.
Ducan, I upgraded the Ubuntu packages a few minutes ago, can you try to upgrade? The current packages are tagged "20080803v01hardy3". Ref: http://snapshots.ekiga.net/ Best regards, Yannick
Installation works. I think I was using the debian packages, sorry.
Good :)
