Description Kamil Páral 2008-07-17 15:25:25 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I have this .desktop "link" file:

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Money As Debt - With English subtitles
Type=Link
URL=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8053398412171686249
Icon=gnome-fs-bookmark

When I "execute" it by doubleclicking, Firefox opens not with abovementioned url, but only with this url:
http://video.google.com/videoplay

There is clearly some problem when handling URLs with ? in them, or some similar problem.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create new .desktop file with above content.
2. Try to execute it.
3. See the link in the browser.

Actual results:
The opened link is different than the original one.

Expected results:
The opened link should be the same as the original one.

Does this happen every time?
Always.

Thanks, fixed in trunk:

Closing.
Comment 2 Pedro Villavicencio 2008-12-09 22:42:06 UTC
this is still an issue with 2.24.2, it's still dropping the parameter passed after ?
Comment 3 Kamil Páral 2008-12-09 23:51:12 UTC
I can't tell, because in Ubuntu latest Nautilus version is 2.24.1. The bug still appears in that version.
Comment 4 Cosimo Cecchi 2008-12-30 10:03:22 UTC
That's another issue: bug 518481.
