Description Wendy Hu 2008-07-10 03:39:29 UTC
Totem cannot play ogg video normally on sparc (snv_92), when the version of gst-launch-0.10 is 0.10.19 or 0.19.20. After installing gst-launch-0.10.20 on svn_92, the problem is also exist.

But totem can play ogg video normally on sparc(snv_91), when the gst-launch-0.10's version is 0.10.14 or 0.19.20. So we can think that there is something wrong with the plugin items.

When I installed theora(version 1.0alpha7) on sparc (snv_91), totem
displays ogg format video normally. But after installing theora(version
1.0beta3), totem displays ogg video mosaic. So we can sure that the update of theora from 1.0alpha7 to 1.0beta3 lead to totem play ogg video mosaic.

This report is a little unclear. Is the problem actually libtheora 1.0beta3?
It's not entirely clear to me if there's any problem with gstreamer at all - you mention several versions of gstreamer, but then you say the problem is actually with the libtheora version?

Do you have this problem on any systems that are using libtheora 1.0alpha7, or ONLY with libtheora 1.0beta3?

If it's a libtheora problem, can you please report this at http://bugs.xiph.org/ instead?
Comment 2 Wendy Hu 2008-07-11 02:00:30 UTC
Actually, I mean the problem results from libtheora's version, and it also reproduce on x86 with libtheora 1.0beta3.

This bug cannot reproduce with libtheora 1.0alpha7, while with libtheora 1.0beta3 it exist. So I deduce the problem is with the update of libtheora.

Ok so the problem is in libtheora. Please file a bug at http://trac.xiph.org for this issue, best with an URL to the actual video used.
