Documentation Section: 6.5 Current documentation is blank Correct version: See attached draft documentation Other information:
Created attachment 113495 [details] Worksheet with example data Spreadsheet with example data and inputs for simulation documentation
Created attachment 113496 [details] rough cut of simulation documentation in OpenOffice.org writer format Rough cut of documentation for simulation analysis in Gnumeric. Screen shots need to be redone to match workflow as described in text. In need of technical and usability reviews. POC: Louis Luangkesorn <lluang@yahoo.com>
Created attachment 116669 [details] Archive of docbook sources for simulation section of documentation These are docbook sources for the simulation section for the Gnumeric documentation that include a section on determining number of iterations. Send comments to lluang@yahoo.com
Created attachment 116670 [details] PDF of simulation chapter derived from docbook sources for simulation section of documentation PDF of attachement 116669: Archive of docbook sources for simulation section of documentation
Created attachment 116671 [details] Worksheet with example data for use with Simulation Documentation Worksheet with data for use with simulation section of documentation as presented in 116669: Archive of docbook sources for simulation section of documentation and 116670: PDF of simulation chapter derived from docbook sources for simulation section of documentation
Looks good. When you are ready I'll merge this into the primary tree.
Created attachment 117230 [details] Sources and figures for simulation chapter for inclusion in /doc directory of Gnumeric Sources include changes due to comments by Gideon Butalid regarding simulation. Sources are intended to be dropped into the /doc folder (including /doc/C and /doc/C/figures. Compiles using dblatex, xmlto and yelp. yelp was tested by integrating sources into the 1.8.2 tree
Created attachment 117231 [details] PDF of simulation chapter derived from docbook sources for simulation section in attachement 117230 Based on sources in 117230. Created using dblatex gnumeric.xml (after gnumeric.xml was stripped down to only references to analysis-simulation)
Created attachment 117232 [details] Gnumeric spreadsheet example for analysis-simulation.xml Worksheet described in 117230 and 117231, Simulation Analysis chapter for Gnumeric Docs. Question: Should this be added to Gnumeric /samples
Created attachment 117481 [details] Sources and figures for simulation chapter for inclusion in the /doc directory of Gnumeric Final version. Passes xmllint when used with Docbook 4.5 DTD and iso-grk1 character intities added to Gnumeric.xml (ver 1.8)
Created attachment 117482 [details] Sample simulation spreadsheet to go with simulation chapter in Gnumeric documentation Added instructions for use in simulation in the same style as /samples/simulation.gnumeric
Created attachment 117483 [details] [review] patch to gnumeric.xml (v 1.8 November 2007) to use Docbook 4.5 and iso-grk1 Patch of gnumeric.xml that allows for Docbook 4.5 and iso-grk1. Using this patch, sources in attachement 117481 passes xmllint without errors. Also tested using yelp, dblatex, and xmlto
Okay, committed at revision 16750. We still need to do two things to close this bug: 1) make xmllint pass: my xmllint doesn't even validated the 4.5 dtd! 2) check the introductory material to mention this chapter. And for polish, it looks like one of the figures uses a much smaller font than the others. --adrian
The 4.5 reference was actually referring to 4.3; after fixing this (http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gnumeric/trunk/doc/C/gnumeric.xml?r1=16750&r2=16751 ), the documentation validates fine for me.
Indeed, indeed, indeed, Stupid Adrian: Rule 1: Make sure it's plugged in. Well, Louis, that's it. Doc is in, you're on the author list, bug is closed (or closing fast). Thanks for the contribution and the work, --adrian
Adrian Thanks for the help. You'll be hearing from me again in the not too distant future. --Louis
