Description Benjamin Schmitz 2008-06-25 10:22:31 UTC
The following nice features are currently missing:

1) Drawing a nice, antialiased and shaded outline with custom thickness and possibly color
2) Drawing an alpha-blended shaded background.
3) Specifying a text color

Out of these, I think 2) is the most important because a nice outline improves readability of subtitles very much and antialiasing makes them look less ugly.

Specifying a text color is probably not all that important, since most people are fine with white.

3) is fixed now (color property and pango markup), 2) should be fixed too (shaded-background property) and 1) is partially fixed, it's at least antialiased.

Do you still need to be able to specify the thickness and color of the outline?
