Description Federico Mena Quintero 2008-06-24 21:25:46 UTC
This started as https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=402163

Most home/office users are behind NAT. It would be helpful if STUN were enabled by default; currently the default is "no NAT".
Comment 1 Damien Sandras 2008-06-25 07:50:14 UTC
I have a good news : it is on by default in the upcoming 3.00.
Comment 2 Federico Mena Quintero 2008-06-25 17:44:20 UTC
That's good to hear :) I'm having a hard time finding the commit that caused this; do you have an idea of when it happened? (if it's an easy patch, I'd like to backport it for openSUSE's ekiga-2.0.12 package).
Comment 3 Federico Mena Quintero 2008-06-25 17:54:41 UTC
Oh, I think I found it... svn revision 6284 removes the Network page in the preferences dialog, but it seems to depend on big changes elsewhere :)

We'll have to wait for 3.0, I guess.
Comment 4 Damien Sandras 2008-06-25 19:22:06 UTC
Yes it is a big change. 3.00 is a big change, but we need more manpower :(
Comment 5 Federico Mena Quintero 2008-06-26 15:50:55 UTC
Sure, don't worry about it. Initially I was hopin that the change would be something like

- NatMode nat_mode = NAT_NONE;
+ NatMode nat_mode = NAT_STUN;

but it's evidently more than that :) No problem; we'll just wait until 3.0 appears.
