Comment 1 Kjartan Maraas 2001-06-19 13:11:15 UTC
It does this for other states/cities too.

Comment 3 John Fleck 2001-11-07 04:22:54 UTC
I assume this is because the Weather Channel has changed the web
address scheme of the images gweather is using.
Comment 4 Luis Villa 2002-02-13 20:08:19 UTC
Is this still a problem? If so, it should really get fixed, or the
option should be removed. [It was last time I looked, but I can't get
it to update at all right now. :/]

Urgent because of the UI freeze.

From the last duplicate:
----
gweather needs to allow user-defined url for retrieving radar maps. The
default always grabs an image dated Jan.2001. I fixed weather.c by using
this as the url:

http://image.weather.com/web/radar/us_%s_ultraradar_medium_usen.jpg
where %s == loc(3 letter code from Locations file).

User-defined urls would be better, since there are many maps to choose
from.

Comment 11 Kevin Vandersloot 2002-03-01 04:59:28 UTC
The url provided only works for a small percentage of the cities for
gweather. Cvs now uses that url scheme. We need to provide custom urls
or else someone has to go through the Locations file and update the
radar IDs. I have a request in works to the release team to add the
option of user defined urls.
Comment 12 Kevin Vandersloot 2002-03-12 04:33:01 UTC
Okay, provided the ability to set custom radar map urls in cvs.

Removing GNOME2 keyword, and filing a new GNOME2 bug for the need for
the updated Locations file.
Comment 13 Andrea 2002-10-20 10:26:49 UTC
The ability to set custom radar map does not work "if (loc->radar[0]
== '-')"
(see weather.c line 1489).

If I understand it correctly, setting a custom url whern there is no
radar code in the Locations file is useless. That is to say, setting a
custom radar map works only when you don't need it...

Comment 14 Kevin Vandersloot 2003-03-10 15:38:55 UTC
Please upgrade to GNOME2 and reopen if you still
find this bug
Comment 15 Christian Marillat 2003-03-10 15:51:27 UTC
of course this bug is still in 2.2 Even worse the radar map isn't
displayed at all.
Comment 16 Kevin Vandersloot 2003-03-10 17:43:12 UTC
Oops. Fixed the custom radar url.
