Description Stephen 2008-06-15 04:35:37 UTC
Using 1.0 on Ubuntu 8.04, podcasts download for exactly 60 seconds and then stop. The podcast is then marked as downloaded, but the download isn't finished and nothing is even saved to the pc. This happens every time, regardless of the url/feed.
Comment 1 Maciej (Matthew) Piechotka 2008-06-23 16:00:33 UTC
Similar problem (I don't know about timing).
Comment 2 Kevin Dupuy 2008-06-25 02:03:04 UTC
I see the same issue.
Comment 3 Gabriel Burt 2008-07-28 01:39:52 UTC
Kevin, Maciej: can you confirm it's exactly 60 seconds for you also?
Comment 4 Frank Groeneveld 2008-08-11 20:49:22 UTC
Same problem here, stops after 60 seconds.
Comment 5 Mike Urbanski 2008-08-11 22:46:14 UTC
Would someone be willing to let me VNC into a box that is having this problem?

Comment 6 Frank Groeneveld 2008-08-12 06:47:34 UTC
I will give you access to my box. I will contact you later today.
Comment 7 Andrew Conkling 2008-09-14 22:27:59 UTC
I haven't seen this bug; is it still valid on 1.2/1.3?
Comment 8 Kevin Dupuy 2008-09-14 22:39:04 UTC
Andrew: I'm seeing this on 1.2.1. Don't know about 1.3 (which I presume is a non-released SVN version?)
Comment 9 Andrew Conkling 2008-09-15 11:38:24 UTC
Updating version then.

Can someone experiencing this post the output of `banshee-1 --debug`? Also, is everyone using Ubuntu?

banshee-1 --debug output
Comment 11 Frank Groeneveld 2008-09-15 11:54:14 UTC
I have this problem in both Ubuntu and Gentoo, both using Banshee 1.2.1
The attached log is when doing:
- Start Banshee
- Start podcast download
- After roughly 60 seconds -> podcast stops downloading
- Quit Banshee
Comment 12 Maciej (Matthew) Piechotka 2008-09-15 12:12:04 UTC
Well - I had this problem a few days ago but I downloaded them in different network (strange - as it was network-dependent).

Does the line "Caught an exception - org.freedesktop.Hal.NoSuchProperty: No property volume.is_mounted on device" come up at all close to when you're downloading a podcast? Or does that appear to be unrelated?
Comment 14 Frank Groeneveld 2008-09-15 13:41:59 UTC
Nope, that's just an error message I see when I start banshee.
Comment 15 Andrew Conkling 2008-09-15 14:00:45 UTC
Hmm, so the debug output wasn't useful for this problem. Has anyone tried another podcast manager with the same files/enclosures?
Comment 16 Frank Groeneveld 2008-09-15 14:01:50 UTC
Same files download fine on my Mac with iTunes...
Comment 17 Mike Urbanski 2009-04-17 07:27:32 UTC
What is the reported transfer rate for a download that fails after 60 seconds?

Removed Jackassery.
Comment 19 Mike Urbanski 2009-04-20 13:49:54 UTC
Finally had both the urge to work on this and access to a compiler.

15 minutes later: fix'd.

*** Bug 579847 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 22 Bertrand Lorentz 2009-04-26 17:25:55 UTC
This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.

I applied Mike's fix in 2 commits : first the cleanups (with some additional formatting fixes), then the real code changes.
