GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 537107
UPS recognised but no shutdown
Last modified: 2009-03-04 15:02:16 UTC
Ubuntu 8.04, GPM 2.22.1, APC Back-UPS ES 700 UPS recognised, notifications produced when AC power switched off, low power reached etc. and correct battery levels shown but the shutdown set for low level and critical level never happens. Both use_profile_time and use_time_for_policy were initially set to true but no power history was shown despite two charge/discharge cycles. I set them both to false and altered the thresholds to percentage_low=80, percentage_critical=20 and percentage_action=15 and rebooted, then turned the AC power off and again, all the notifications looked fine but no shutdown at 80%, 65%, 58%, at which time I turned the power back on.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use. By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME. Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
